Because it is frequently asked how to transfer or to renew a website to Joomla! SEO version, I have decided to describe my own experience. I used one of the easiest and quickest way although it can probably allow more bugs than more difficult variants. I do not describe difficult variants because people who can use them hardly need help.

A simple refreshment –it is as usually at your own risk: the same way you install a new Joomla! version over the old one. The level of difficulty is equal to the site updating up to the last version, plus the installation some components. You should update your website with Joomla! if you are sure that you are able to return everything back as a minimum. It concerns not only this Joomla! version, but other version of the website engine.
If I had components already installed on my website and a lot of information is downloaded (pages, data, and etc.), I would probably do this next (let’s call this variant “straight away”):
This is just a standard update of the website to the last stable version Joomla! 10.0.13 with all the SEO changes in files. Again I want to stress that you should do this (updating Joomla!, Non-Joomla!, big scripts, forums, and etc.) as a minimum if you are sure that can get everything back and fully understand what you are doing. |
